PMI has made some updates to their CCR program. To keep Project Manager's skills employer relevant, PMI has introduce the talent triangle. It identified three main areas of required professional development

for Project Managers: Technical Project Management, Strategic and Business Management and Leadership.

What does this mean for how you can earn PDUs to maintain your PMP certification? The overall framework has not changes. You still earn PDUs for education and giving back to the professional community. However, 60% of the PDUs are now required in the Education category and 40% can be earned in Giving Back. PDUs from Education will now be aligned with the PMI Talent Triangle. A minimum of 4 PDUs are now required in each of the three segments of the PMI Talent Traingle. The remaining 18 PDUs can be obtained in any of the three segments. A maximum of 12 PDUs can be obtained in the category of Giving Back; no more than 4 PDUs can be obtained as working as a professional Project Manager and the remaining 8 can be attained through either volunteering or creating knowledge.
